Summary of claims

Union members at UQ voted overwhelmingly for an ambitious log of claims on July 13 2021. These are improvements we want to see in our Enterprise Agreement (EA) in the current round of enterprise bargaining.

We've been bargaining for over a year now and management are dragging their heels. Despite inflation and other cost of living increases biting for all workers, management has offered NO proposals or concessions in bargaining to address this.

It is becoming increasingly urgent that we reach an agreement that determines our workplace conditions for the next three years. This is the only time that we can fight for real improvements in pay and conditions for all staff: permanent, contract and casual, academic and professional.

It will be tough to win these claims. No major gains in working conditions have been won without workers taking industrial action - so it's important to organise now and use this opportunity to improve our pay and conditions.
